The 5-minute ChatGPT setup that makes every answer better
Fill in two boxes once. Every answer after this one starts already knowing you.
The video lands soon. The complete lesson is already below, so you can start now and watch when it goes up.
ChatGPT starts every conversation with you as a stranger: no job, no family, no idea how you like to be talked to. So it gives the answer that is safe for everyone, which means it is good for no one.
There is a setting built for exactly this, and almost nobody turns it on. It is called Custom Instructions, and it takes five minutes, once. The second box, the one people skip, is the one that matters most.
The prompts, free
The full setup from this lesson, free. Paste both into Settings > Personalization > Custom Instructions:
I'm a [your job or role]. I have [kids/pets/whatever's relevant]. I live in [city or type of place]. My biggest time constraint is [busy evenings / early mornings]. I'm trying to get better at [one or two things you care about].
Keep answers short unless I ask for detail. Give me the direct recommendation first, then the reasoning if I want it. Skip the disclaimers and the 'it depends' hedging. If you need more information to give a good answer, ask me one question before answering.
Then turn on "Reference saved memories" in the same Settings screen.
The ChatGPT Starter System
$25The two setup boxes filled in for a dozen common situations, plus a starter prompt library to build the daily habit. The free setup lesson stands on its own; this is the same setup, boxed.
